I received this recipe for laundry soap from Rural King, a local store here in IL. I have made 3 recipes of it and now will never buy another brand name soap again, I love this recipe. I do not use any lavender scent and it works just fine for me. I have washed my husband’s really dirty jeans and they come out sparkling clean.

Thank you Hedy! It is nice to hear that someone else uses this recipe!

I don’t make it like you do, but it’s the same recipe. I just make a full 5 gallon of soap with 2/3 of the Fels Naptha bar, it last me about 2 or 3 months as I just do the laundry for 2 people. I am going to buy the various oils to scent the laundry soap just for the fun of it. I know the soap itself doesn’t smell the best, but the clothes come out really nice smelling.

I haven’t tried using scents, although I really love lavender. I’m not so sure Hubby would appreciate it! LOL! I should make some just for me. 🙂
