I know that it is March, but since I made an unplanned trip to visit family in February, I did not meet my OMG goal.
Since coming home, I have been playing the catch up game. So, while I still don’t have my daughter’s patriotic quilt basted, I do have my February 365 Challenge blocks finished.
Onward to March!
Quilt On!
Very cool – you do have a way with color palette choices! What’s the size of the center block vs the other blocks?

I wasn’t so sure about the color palette, but the more that I work with it, the more that I think it will come together, so now I do like it. (The original quilt is overall blue with brown accent.) I am not buying new fabric for this project, and I want to truly challenge myself with this project. The small blocks are 3.5″ and the center block is 18.5″ (unfinished). This month she has us making a few 6.5″. 🙂

Thank you, Connie! It is good to hear the encouragement, especially since I know that this is not a popular color scheme. 🙂

Hi Laura! Wow, those fabrics you chose look fab together. It will be a very pretty quilt when you’ve made all 365 blocks! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank you, Roseanne! I hope my choices give a woodsy ‘feel’ and that it does pull together when it is done! I don’t want to play it safe with this challenge! 🙂

This is really working out well Laura. So far, it is beautiful, and with no fabric shopping, you are really going to work getting the colors to move as you wish, but wow, the end will be stupendous!

Yup; the colors are a challenge, and the tiny piecing is a challenge. This week, I’ve been making 3.5″ blocks with mitered seams. I am actually finding these easier to piece than the other blocks. Ha, ha! 🙂

Love the center block! That gray fabric has so much movement to it.

I have had that gray for many years; it is a Kona Bay fabric. I think I might cry when it is all gone. 🙂

Laura, this is the most interesting quilt I have ever seen. Of course it is the fabric. I wanted to do the 365 – maybe I will make it a project later in the year! I love the 3.5″ blocks – they are fun. Where in the world did you get the fabrics in that color way. The yellow will really wake the quilt up! Hugs!

Nanette, all of the fabrics come from years of scraps and stash building. None of it is new…I am making myself use what I have. Therefore, none of it is from a particular designer/collection. I am “winging” it up here. 🙂
