Bow Ties Update and a New Project

I don’t have a lot of sewing progress to share, since I have been using my time to clean out cabinets, closets and read a novel.

Bow Tie Leader/Enders

Remember the bow tie flimsy?  I let it marinate while I considered whether or not I could live with the size that I made.

I decided that I wasn’t upset with it anymore, and I would make more bow ties to add to the width.

I finished the extra blocks and they are now sewn to the flimsy.

So now it marinates some more until I can come up with a backing for it.

Pat Sloan’s Shamrock Stem caught my eye.  I don’t have a decorative table topper (that can also be used as a small wall hanging) for March, so I spent the weekend making one.

  1. Fantastic! I’ve been getting ‘un-upset’ at a few older projects myself and was relieved that the answers to the glitches were there all along, just couldn’t see them at the time.
    Must be a ‘laura’ thing.

  4. I do like the layout you are using for the bow tie quilt. It sounds like you are really enjoying reduced working hours and a regular routine. I always think being able to sit down and read is a sign of healthy relaxation in body, mind and spirit.

Laura, your bow tie layout caught my eye. I think it is interesting and beautiful. Yes to making more to add to the width and making it the quilt you will enjoy. And your pretty greens are so pretty too. You really know how to take an idea and run with it. I spend far to much time dithering about.
