August OMG 2018

My sewing goals for August are the same as they were for July.

I am keeping it simple, since I am working six days a week; split shifts.  I can do things between shifts, but when evening comes, all I want to do is be a couch potato!

I will be piecing three 5 inch blocks for the Squared Away Sampler project.  You can see my progress so far this year by clicking here.

I want to complete six more fabric pages of my President’s book.  I made good progress last month, and I am sure I can do the same in August.  I really want to get this project finished, but it is still a snail’s pace for me.

President's Blocks

On Ringo Lake still awaits squaring up and binding.  Not a goal, but a bonus…maybe I can get the quilt squared up this month.

On Ringo Lake

Like much of the country, my home climate has been hot, hot, hot.  It is very difficult to keep the garden green.  I do have pics that I haven’t shared yet, so here are a few to enjoy:

  1. You are getting things accomplished – even with a job! Great. Flowers are so pretty! I barely finished my 3 blocks for RSC! I am hoping to get the August done earlier. Hugs

    • Thank you, Karen…I am enjoying reading the signatures and thinking about the person while I quilt each block. This is a special project for me, for sure.

Yeah…time is a precious commodity, even when one isn’t working!

  5. Your garden looks better than ours does. The sampler quilt is looking good. Best of luck getting those blocks done while working a challenging schedule.

    • I doubt that my garden looks better now…I took most of my photos before the weather became super hot and dry. It is a challenge to keep it green now, but I am trying.

I’ve already got a good start on this month’s goal…just need to keep it up. 🙂

  6. It seems there are quite a few of us continuing our July goals into August. Hopefully, we can all get them done this month and move on to something else! We are making progress though!

  8. Those are good goals. I’m enjoying seeing your garden photos. I’m struggling to find much colour in ours at the moment. There are a couple of roses getting ready for a second flowering and finally the nicotianas are coming into flower. It has been a very hot, dry summer here too and it doesn’t seem to be over yet. I am really enjoying the blue skies after a very long, dull Winter.
